Q. I've been tempted by those ads for the torso track that Suzanne Somers does. Does it really work or is it a waste of money? - Amanda

A. The Torso Track claims to tone your arms, shoulders, chest, back and abs with one simple movement. But, to get the full benefits of exercise you need variety. This piece of equipment moves in one direction only. There are no modifications that can be made.

For instance, if you are interested in the Torso Track to firm your abdomen, you would be much better off doing crunches, reverse crunches and obliques. By completing these exercises you would be working all of you ab muscles. They also claim it’s easy to use. Personally, I wouldn’t be so sure about that. If you want to strengthen your abs and favor using equipment over just doing basic floor exercises, I would suggest an ab roller rather then the Torso Track.
