Q. Sometimes on the road, my hotels have a pool. What kind of things can I do to get the most overall body workout in the pool?

A. Swimming laps is an excellent form of exercise since it is easy on the joints and uses just about every muscle in the body.

Swimming laps can really get your heart rate up and burn the same amount of calories as you would jogging, with a lot less risk of joint injury.

Additionally, the resistance that the water provides can work to tone your body, from the shoulders all the way down to the calves.
